Saturday’s Family Road Trip
It was smoking hot this weekend at home in Ennismore and at the Cottage in Apsley. We decided as a family to go exploring a small town. We chose Barry’s Bay.
We did a little shopping in the town at MAD outdoors. We found some great gear for some future camping trips. Susan also found some beautiful clothes and dresses. Check out the store’s website HERE.
From our shopping, we found Zurakowski Park. What grabs your attention to go to the park is the model jet and spitfire plane, statue and gazebo. Who is Janusz Zurakowski? Here is the introduction on the website for the park.
“Janusz was one of the world’s most famous pilots. He was a Polish Canadian who has been at the forefront of cutting edge aviation technology. Raised in Poland, he joined the Polish Air Force in 1934 and during the war escaped to England in 1940. After a brilliant wartime career, he test flew aircraft in England and in Canada, to where he immigrated in 1952. The most notable aircraft tested by Zura was the Canadian supersonic interceptor known as the CF-105 Avro Arrow.”

Little Wolf Lake Fishing in Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park
Lucas and I went fishing again on Wolf Lake. We have had success on this lake before. This trip, I caught a couple of little guys then I hooked onto a decent Bass but lost him during his surface dance. I immediately cast in the same area. A monster came after my lure, grabbed it then happily swam away with it. I watched it go right back to the weeds out of sight without even a tug on my rod. My line broke. That so sucked!
Despite our lack of luck fishing, it was wonderful spending on Sunday morning on a beautiful lake. fishing and listening to my son chat about everything and anything! Wolf Lake is stunning.
