Beaver lake is part of the Mississagua chain of lakes, it is connected to Gold Lake to the South and Catchacoma Lake to the West. Water levels are regulated by means of a dam on the South end of Mississagua Lake. Catchacoma cottagers association has currently deploed 39 hazard buoys in 15 locations throughout the lake, as there are many hazards along the lake and in the narrows.
Maximum depth is approximately 18.2m (60 feet), the average depth is approximately 6.4m (21 feet).
A public boat launch is located at the second bridge along Beaver Lake Road.
