Anstruther Lake Kawartha's

Anstruther Lake is part of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and will not face growth or urbanization because of it. This lake is known for its clean clear water and diving cliffs to the east of the lake.

Interestingly, two-thirds of the cottages are water access only.  The Anstruther Lake Cottager’s Association website provides much valuable information for cottagers on the lake.

The boat launch is located on Anstruther Lake Road, Apsley. The max depth is approximately 37.7m (124 feet) the average depth is approximately 12.192m (40 feet) and the surface area is 641 hectares (1584 acres).

Anstruther Lake is an excellent starting point for a canoe trip in Kawartha Highlands Provincial.  This is also a popular area for snowmobiling.  There are many trail systems here for those who like to explore.

Major fish species are large and smallmouth bass, walleye, and lake trout. To help protect the lake trout and preserve quality fishing for summer ice fishing is not allowed.

Finally, there is much to see and explore in the area.  The village of Apsley offers shops, eateries, and events for visitors throughout the year.  Other popular lakes in the area are Chandos Lake and Jack’s Lake.  A day is always well spent visiting Chandos Beach.
